Digital Art by Mary Place

An exhibition of art created using digital technology

May 6—27

Mary wanted a career as a commercial artist from the time she learned such a thing existed and majored in Fine Arts.  After graduation, she worked with two commercial artists in Philadelphia who were willing to take on a young kid, with none of the right courses, and show her what she needed to know.  Mary did design work for several newspapers in Cape May and Atlantic Counties and retired in 2009.  Mary wanted a creative outlet and found that rather than painting or printmaking, working on the computer seemed most natural to her and began making digital drawings and what can best be described as digital paintings.  At the encouragement of family and friends Mary started having framed, giclee prints made and began showing them at different shops and galleries.
